Snakes rest most of the day. Snakes have poor eye-sight. They stay in a fairly small place through out their lives. Some species live on land while others live in water. Water snakes move by swimming or floating. The black mamba may be the fastest snake. The black mamba is actually a cobra without a hood. The hog-nosed snake pretends to be dead to fool predetors. When a baby snake hatches, it has to defend for itself. When a water snake is scared, it sprays a smelly liquid to escape predetors. The gaboon viper can camouflage itself.
